
Design and Build
The Ather 450 has a fresh, contemporary look with an all-aluminium chassis that gives it strength while keeping it light. It is designed for a generous riding experience with ergonomic seating and roomier footboard. The scooter features 7-inch touch screen dashboard with onboard navigation, diagnostics and smart phone integration.
Performance
At the heart of the Ather 450 lies a 5.4 kW Brushless DC (BLDC)electric motor producing a super peppy 20.5 Nm of torque, which propels the scooter from 0-40 km/h in just 3.9 seconds with a top speed of 80 km/h, while a 2.4 kWh lithium-ion battery powers it till around 75 km in real-world conditions on a single charge — sufficient for daily commutes in the city.
Charging Infrastructure
Ather Energy has an all-encompassing charging eco-system called the Ather Grid with fast-charging stations located across multiple cities. These stations can charge the scooter at a rate of up to 1km/minute. The Ather 450 also comes with home charging point dubbed, Ather Dot which is capable to charge the scooter from 0-100% in 4 to 5 hours.
Technological Features
The scooter gets an Android Open Source-basedtouch screen dashboard that allows the user to receive over-the-air updates, auto-cancelling indicators, guide-me-home lights, and reverse parking assist. A dedicated mobile appgives the rider overview of charging status, ride statistics, and navigation.
